Do I need oxygen absorbers in these or can seal without? August 27, 2021 at 6:45 pm #574 Donnajo55Participant I always add OA when packaging for longer term. Are you talking about freeze dried? August 27, 2021 at 6:56 pm #575 JaredKeymaster You can do it without but it is better to use them. The advantage of mylar is that oxygen won’t leak in and they keep light out. The o2 absorber will take care of whatever o2 was in the bag when you sealed it. August 27, 2021 at 6:59 pm #576 minisliceoffarmKeymaster If you don’t have absorbers you can vacuum seal them. Then drop them into the Mylar bags and seal that too. August 31, 2021 at 8:09 pm #751 NancymkParticipant Great idea’ How do you seal the Mylar bags? Can you use your foodsaver? September 7, 2021 at 9:52 am #830 minisliceoffarmKeymaster It needs a heat press. Some food savers have a hot enough bar to seal mylar but most don’t.
